Food?
Of the necessities of man, I find food to be the most appealing. Shelters crumble and fade. Water
is flavorless and boring. Companions are fickle and self-absorbed. But food; food is glorious. Food is timeless and ever-lasting. Food is delicious and
exciting. Food is constant and self-sacrificing.
I find I have a very intricate relationship with food. There are
sometimes I find it’s easy to relate the food I eat to the people I want to be
around. If I choose a salad with diced celery, chopped carrots, broccoli, and no
dressing, I know I can’t go wrong. It’s like hanging out with the nerds after
school: I’ll be safe, I’ll probably want to do my homework instead, and I may
better myself by doing so. But what if I want to be on the other side of the
tracks? What if I want that double cheese burger with a couple slices of bacon,
a dripping helping of barbeque sauce, some steaming greasy fries, and a frosted
glassful of milkshake? That’s more like it! That’ll put hair on your chest, just
like that cigarette with the boys, leaning against your buddy’s Shelby GT500 in
your matching leather jackets and white tees. Hindsight suggests, however, that
might not be a good idea.
Or maybe Food isn’t about with whom you associate, but, rather, who you
love. That pecan crust chicken Caesar salad is really nice. She’ll sit down and
enjoy some reading with you, and she loves getting her work done. She’s a cutie
too. She doesn’t have too much of a spicy side, but you’ll always be able to
look at yourself in the mirror the next morning. Now, that rack of ribs is a
knock-out! She’s got all the right curves in all the right places, and she’ll
take your tongue for a ride you won’t soon forget.
She’s not the spiciest pepper in the bunch, though (if you catch my
drift), and you’ll probably regret it when you wake up the next morning, so be
forewarned.
All kidding aside, I love food. Food might not get me out of bed in the
morning, but it gets me through workouts and classes, family vacations and
holidays, and even some dates. I look forward to my next meal, planning what
I’ll feast on for that short moment of gourmet bliss. I’m almost always hungry
and ready to try new cuisines. I’ll give just about anything a chance, at least
once; broadening my palate is somewhat of a hobby of mine. So if you see me in
the cafeteria or a restaurant or the grocery, and you’ve got a great recipe or
dish, stop me and tell me about it! I love hearing what other people eat and how
they make it.
Well, that’s my philosophy on food. I hope you’re having fun, I know I
am! Welcome to my page!
